Who We Are
Our Mission
The Tallahassee Camellia Society is a non-profit organization that encourages the culture of Camellias. The Society holds meetings, programs, and shows with the purpose of educating and informing its members and the public of the history, growing, propagation, exhibiting, and judging of camellias.
Annual Show
Each year in January the Tallahassee Camellia Society holds a judged camellia show. Our January 13 and 14, 2024 show was fantastic! We had close to 1500 blossoms exhibited and around 1,400 persons attend. Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to seeing you next January 2025.

Meeting Details
The Tallahassee Camellia Society meets:
* Monthly from October to May
*The first Tuesday of the month
* At the Jubilee Cottage at Goodwood Museum and Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road
* Dinner ($15.00) is optional and dinner reservations must be confirmed 3 days prior to the meeting
* At 6:00pm to socialize, dinner at 6:30pm, and the meeting begins at 7:00pm
* Guest are welcome
Membership dues are $20 per year for a single membership and $30 for couples.
Programs
October 3, 2023 - Welcome Back! Camellia Basics presented by Ann Lumsden. Open floor Q & A on Camellias.
November 7, 2023 - A Tribute to Mary Maud Sharpe presented by Rev. Candice McKibben, Randolph Maphis, and representatives from the Tallahassee Rose Society and the Thomasville Rose Society. Q & A on Camellias to follow presentation.
December 5, 2023 - Mary Rhodes and Stewart Tomlinson on preparing for the Tallahassee Camellia show. At this meeting we will also have a mini-show of December blooms and holiday desserts.
January 12, 2024 - The Judges Reception will be held at Oven Park. Dinner is $20 and will be catered by the Seinyard.
January 13 and 14, 2024 - Annual Tallahassee Camellia Show at FDACS Auditorium 3125 Connor Blvd, Tallahassee. Free to the public 1 to 5 Saturday and 1 to 4 Sunday.
February 6, 2024 - Annual Camellia Plant Auction fund raiser for the Society. Auctioneer Extraordinaire Randolph Maphis. Opportunity to purchase some hard to find varieties.
March 5, 2024 - China and the Four Seasons Camellia presented by Mark Crawford of Loch Laurel Nurseries, Valdosta, GA. Q & A on Camellias to follow presentation.
April 2, 2024 - History of the Tallahassee Camellia Society presented by Stewart Tomlinson.
April 13th 2024 - Free Pruning Class open to the public at Maclay Gardens at 9:00am. Please join us. Email for more information.
May 7, 2024 - Annual membership picnic for paid members.
